National Park Malá Fatra is a small tourist heaven, which is suited for everyone. You can make either easy or difficult tours there and each one will be beautiful. One can say Malá Fatra includes a bit from every corner of Slovakia. Many people are even convinced, that right here the most beautiful Slovak hill is located. Its name is Veľký Rozsutec. To the favourite tour destinations also belong the highest peak of Malá Fatra – Veľký Kriváň and Chleb, that lies nearby. Not only these two but also many other peaks offer breathtaking views of Velká Fatra, Západní Tatry, Chočské Vrchy and other mountain ranges. Majority of the most interesting places can be seen by taking the undoubtedly most attractive trail – the Ridge Hike.

The largest touristic centre of Malá Fatra is Vratná Dolina, where you can also find our Privat Balát. It is located in a former pastoral settlement Štefanová. It lies right in the National Park Malá Fatra and it is an ideal starting point for a number of tours. The most popular include the passage through  the Jánošíkové Diery (Jánošík Holes) or taking a cable car from Vratná Dolina to Snilovské sedlo and then continue to Velký Kriváň on foot.

Malá Fatra offers many slopes of various difficulty, so both skiers and snowboarders, beginners or experienced, like it there. Local ski schools teach skiing and snowboarding to even the most absolute beginners, that want to learn the basics. The biggest local ski resort is Vratná Free Time Zone.

The nearby village Terchová is a birthplace of a famous Slovak outlaw Juraj Jánošík.
